The emission of CO2 in 2024 amounted to 50061.1 kilotons (Gg), preseting a decrease by 0.1% relative to 2023. According to the sections of economic activity, the largest emission was from the Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply 60.4%, then from Manufacturing 15.8%, and from other sections 7.2%, and from households 16.6%.
CH4 emission in 2024 amounted to 300.1 kilotons (Gg). Section Water supply and waste water management has the share of 37.4%, section Agriculture, forestry and fishing share of 30.7%, section Mining and quarrying a share of 21.7%, other sections the share of 3.7 % and households 6.5%.
SO2 emission in 2024 amounted to 359.3 kilotons (Gg), presenting the increase of 10.7% relative to the previous year. Total emissions of SO2 in the section of Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply has the share of 94.4% with increase of 15.2% relative to 2023. The share of SO2 emission in other sections of economic activities was 4.8%, and in households 0.8%.
Of the total of 323.2 kilotons (Gg) of emitted CO in 2024, 84.0% related to emissions from households, while sections of economic activities have significantly smaller shares in total CO emissions 16.0%. The emissions of households caused by the heating method amounted to 92.4%
Emission of NOx, with 127.4 thousand tons of emitted gases, recorded decrease of 1.4% relative to the previous year. Emissions of the mentioned gases from households, in the sense of transport, recorded decrease of 4.0%. Largest emission was from the Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply 52.0% and with recorded decrease of 0.4% relative to the previous year.
