Statistical Release

During 2025, the sections: Agriculture, forestry and fishing, Mining and quarrying, Manufacturing, Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, Water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities, Construction and Other service activities of the Republic of Serbia generated waste amounting to 182.3 million tons, which represents an decrease of 13% compared to the previous year.

When it comes to the amount of waste generated, observed by sector, and compared to the previous year, the following trends were recorded in 2025: Agriculture, forestry and fishing sector - a increase of 0.9%, Mining - an decrease of 13.8%, Manufacturing industry - an decrease of 2.9%, Electricity, gas and steam supply - an increase of 3.3%, Water supply and wastewater management - an increase of 4.4%, Construction - an increase of 0.6% and service sectors - an decrease of 6.8%.

In 2025, a total of 182.8 million tons of waste were treated, which is 12.7% less than in the previous year. Of the total amount of waste treated,179 million tons (98.6%) were disposed of, and 2.6 million tons (1.4%) were reused.

Waste generation and treatment, 2025

During 2025 in the Republic of Serbia, the sections of economic activities generated 182.3 million tons of waste. Treated waste amounted to 182.0 million tons.
