In 2024, total expenditures for environmental protection amounted to RSD 87 317.5 million, which is by11.4% higher than in the previous year. In the structure of the total expenditures for environmental protection, share of environmental protection investments amounted to 33.9%, while current expenditures had the share of 66.1%.
Environmental protection investments in 2024 amounted to RSD 29 629.4 mill, being RSD 2 042.5 million less than in the previous year. The greatest share in the structure of environmental protection investments in 2024 related to waste management and amounted to 41.6% (RSD 12 329.8 mill).
Current expenditures for environmental protection in 2024 amounted to RSD 57 688.1 mill, presenting the increase of RSD 10 949.4 mill, relative to the previous year. The greatest share in structure of current environmental protection expenditures in 2024 related to waste management and amounted to 69.4% (RSD 40 056.5 mill.).
In the structure of environmental protection investments by industry1) sections, share for prevention of environmental pollution amounted to 42.0% (RSD 8 328.0 mill.), while investments for pollution treatment encompassed 58.0% (RSD 11 489.3 mill.).
In 2024, share of environmental protection expenditures in Gross domestic product equalled 0.9%.
