The purpose of this question is to know what was done with the most recent stools passed by the child in the household. The safe disposal of children's stools is of particular importance because children's stools are the most likely cause of faecal contamination to the immediate household environment. Correct disposal of stools is linked with lower risks of diarrhoea. Respondents are asked where they usually dispose of their children's stools if the child did not use the toilet facility.
