Literal question
Was anything (else) given to treat the diarrhoea?
Interviewer instructions
This question asks the mother or caretaker whether the child received any (other) treatment for diarrhoea other than those mentioned in CA4 for this episode of diarrhoea. If in CA4 you learned that the child was given fluid from an ORS packet, sugar and salt solution, or pre-packaged ORS fluid, then phrase CA5 by saying, “Was anything else given to treat the diarrhoea?” If none of the liquids was given, ask CA5 by saying, “Was anything given to treat the diarrhoea?” Circle the code corresponding to the answer given. If the response is 'Yes', continue to CA6 to learn the type of treatment given. If the child was not given anything (else) for the diarrhoea or the respondent doesn't know, skip to CA7.
